Last Quarter Moon - Oct 2 2018

Ohhhhh mama moon! You hold such wisdom. I love following the phases of the moon to contextualize my emotions, my businesses and my health. Rewilding through reconnecting to the cycles of the moon has changed my life in so many ways for the better over the past few years but, even I- lover of all things moon and metaphysical- sometimes get caught up and forget to check in on what’s happening with her. And, thusly, I feel out of whack or super confused about life. In honor of this, I’m going to track some of the moon phases here on Mondays and fill us in on what’s going on in super easy-to-digest (I hope!) language so we can harness her luminous light to live in step with nature and our most magical lives.

We are now entering what is known as the last quarter of the moon 🌗

This can be a bit of an unsettled period. Our ambitions are being stirred up and there is a desire to do something very important and new- however, energy is best spent on releasing. .
The moon is getting “smaller” making its way back to the darkness of the new moon so this is not the time to start something new. This is a time of shedding.

The themes surrounding this phase are letting go- physically and emotionally. This is a good time to look at the concept of forgiveness. Like the moon gradually decreasing in size, you have to be ready to let go of stuff. Throughout the month you may have been hurt or angered in many ways. It's under this moon that you can practice let go of all grudges and release all anger. Make a list of these feelings and the people associated with them, keep it under a piece of rose quartz and then burn it during the upcoming new moon. We purge ourselves to be able to receive the new intentions during the next new moon.

Another great practice during this moon is a cleanse. Clean out your apartment, your closet, your friendships. Look at anything that's no longer serving you and get rid of it. Pay attention to the unnecessary emotional and physical clutter you’ve accumulated during this past cycle and rid yourself of it. To shed unnecessary emotional weight, try movement: dance, yoga, etc.
